The RTITB accredited Lift Truck Instructor Initial/ Novice course is for experienced lift truck operators who are looking to take the next step to deliver lift truck operator training.
This course is for any lift truck operator who has not taken any formal training as an instructor before. Throughout the course, learners will be guided with interactive theory knowledge, discussion and practical practice. By the end of the session, each learner will be able to cater for the needs of operator learners both in classroom delivery and practical teaching of lift truck operation.

- Each learner must be able to evidence completion of a counterbalance lift truck operator course within 36 months of the course start date. This course must have been delivered by an instructor registered to the ABA group (AITT, ITSSAR, LANTRA, NPORS or RTITB).
- Each learner must complete the eTruck RTITB eLearning theory course within 36 months of attending the instructor course start date.
- A laptop is required to complete the eTruck theory and for use throughout the instructor course to support with elements of the programme such as lesson plan design.
- Each learner must have good communication skills, with the confidence to deliver training to others.

The RTITB Lift Truck instructor course will provide experienced operators with the skills and knowledge to become qualified and competent instructors. This is ideal for individuals looking to take the next career step into delivering quality training, or for organisations looking to upskill their team to deliver internal industry leading lift truck training whilst saving on financial cost.
On successful completion of the course, instructors will also be able to register to the RTITB international register of professional instructors. This is a network of over 5000 instructors, trained to the RTITB standard.
Each learner is individuall assessed throughout the course. On the final day of the programme, each learner is then assessed by an external RTITB examiner on the skills gained throughout the course.
