Course Details
The SMSTS Refresher 2 day course is for delegates who have previously passed the 5 day SMSTS course. It will revive and rejuvenate the current SMSTS holder's responsibilities of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as the legal responsibilities as the Site Manager.
The SMSTS Refresher course aims to support site managers to:
- Improve awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
- Identify measures that will assist the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and best working practice.
- Consolidate understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety, welfare and the environment.
We support the delivery of CITB SMSTS Refresher through regular classroom sessions, convenient remote virtual sessions or through private/ on-site courses - Get in touch to find out more!
Delegates must have a good understanding of the English language.
Delegates must have previously completed the five-day SMSTS, holding a valid and in date CITB SMSTS certificate. The certificate is required on booking to ensure eligibility of the delegate attending the course.

- Module 2 - Health & Welfare
- Module 3 - General Safety
- Module 4 - High Risk Activities
If you are booking on behalf of a CITB levy claiming organisation, please provide your unique levy number at the point of booking or on the day of the course. On course completion we will then sumbit your levy claim on your behalf.
The awarding body CITB issue all certificates via PDF format. This will be emailed to the course booking contact on successful completion of the course, once recieved from CITB.
