Are you looking to work in the world of construction? The CITB Health & Safety Awareness is the perfect first step on your journey. The CITB Health & Safety Awareness is a comprehensive 1 day course, exploring a wide range of safety topics commonly found on site.
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course is part 1 of a 2-part process for CSCS applications. When combined with the CITB HSE Operative test, learners are in a position to gain the CSCS Green Labourer card.
As a CITB Independent Test Centre, we are on hand to assist our learners throughout their CSCS requirements by offering HSE tests here at Alpha Safety. Furthermore, we offer the additional option for the CSCS labourer card application on completion. Please see our support packages below which can be decided throughout your booking:
- CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course Only - £120 +VAT
- CITB Course & CITB HSE Operative Test - £155 +VAT
- CITB Course, CITB Test & CSCS Card Application - £199 +VAT
From 1st February 2025, all first initial CSCS Green Labourer cards will be issued for a 2x year validity. Following the initial two-year period, workers can renew their card for a five-year term upon producing evidence of continuing employment in a labouring role. You can read more on these changes here.
Delegates must be competent in English at Operative level.

CSCS is often a mandatory requirement for most construction sites in the UK. The CITB Health & Safety Awareness provides a fundamental step in gaining a CSCS labourers card to access site, whilst supporting learners with a foundational skills and development for construction site safety.
If you are booking on behalf of a CITB levy claiming organisation, please provide your unique levy number and learner national insurance number at the point of booking or on the day of the course. On course completion we will then submit your grant claim on your behalf.
The awarding body CITB issue all certificates via PDF format. This will be emailed to the course booking contact on successful completion of the course, once receieved from CITB.
Never lose a certificate again - On completion, booking contacts can access invoices and certificates at any time using your dedicated member area. All you need to do is register for free on our website. Get in touch for more information or support.
