Alpha Safety Training proudly achieves status as an approved ECITB Training Provider

Following a successful ECITB centre audit in August 2025, Alpha Safety Training are able to further support our engineering construction based clients and their workforce through the expansion of our training services and standards to include the CCNSG National Safety Passport schemes.

The approval celebrates a milestone accreditation achievement for Alpha Safety who now proudly offer quality accredited training for over 12 industry leading accreditations.

During the centre audit, ECITB lead auditor Martin Reay provided the following comments:

'The auditor would like to thank Alpha Safety Training for their help and hospitality during the audit. The training provider has put a lot of work into the delivery of ECITB CCNSG, they are at the very beinning, however, are on the right track with IQA and management processes clearly in place.'

Alpha Safety Training Quality & Compliance Manager, David Puntan, shared the following statement:

'Gaining the ECITB license to deliver CCNSG courses is a significant achievement both personally and for Alpha Safety. The achievement reflects on our commitment to maintain the highest training and compliance standards, ensuring we equip our learners with the skills and knowledge needed to operate safely in high risk environments.

Approval for Alpha Safety opens the door to delivering industry recognised qualifications, strengthening our training portfolio and broadening our reach within the engineering construction sector. The achievement reinforces our reputation as a trusted provider of essential safety training.'

Alpha Safety General Manager, Danial Ahern, further commented:

'Approval as an ECITB Training Provider is a evidence of to the dedication of the team to our standards of delivery and commitment to the continual development of our standards for our valued clients and learners. Thank you to each of the team involved in supporting the journey towards the ECITB approval.

With recent key industry changes here in South Wales, the approval had been a client led strategic decision to sit alongside our existing standards such as the CITB Site Safety training range and testing services to assist CSCS applicants. The addition of the CCNSG training range allows Alpha Safety to further support our service provision for our clients in the engineering construction industry and to assist in meeting the skills gaps required for the upcoming projects in South Wales.'

'The Training Provider has put a lot of work into the delivery of ECITB CCNSG'

What is the ECITB & CCNSG?

The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) is the employer driven skills body for the Engineering Construction Industry in the UK, focused on the aim of enhancing skills in the industry to support growth and tackle skill gaps.

The Client Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG) is the nationally recognised safety card for the Engineering Construction Industry. Created in the heart of South Wales, the Safety Passport has been the recognised safety passport for over the last 30 years after it's launch in 1993 with the aim of standardising health and safety training and induction programmes for contractors in the engineering construction industries.

Alpha Safety Training are dedicated to play a role in continuing the commitment towards the delivery of these standards, proudly offering the range of CCNSG courses, to include:

To date, there has been over 1 million safety passports in the process of supporting industry-led safety standards.

The ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport

By Industry, for industry - Since the launch of the ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport in 1993, the training scheme has been dedicated to meeting the learning needs of the industry ever since.

The initial 2 day course explores 4 key topics in the aim of providing a foundational understanding of the health and safety requirements of the engineering construction industry, these topics are:

  • Related health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Safe use of tools and equipment in differing working environments
  • Safe working procedures and solutions to emergencies
  • Personal site safety responsibilities

Due to the success of the CCNSG Safety Passport, it is now a nationally recognised standard, often being a mandatory requirement for any operative and organisation for a client project on an Engineering Construction Industry site.
