What is PLA Funding?
Personal Learning Accounts (PLA) funding is a Welsh Government initiative providing fully funded, flexible, part-time courses for eligible adults to gain skills, change careers, or upskill themselves.
The initiative is designed for employed individuals earning under £34,303 or those at risk of redundancy, and covers training in digital, green, and health sectors
Do I qualify for PLA funding?
You're eligible for PLA funding if you meet the following criteria:
- Live in Wales
- 19 years old or over
- Annual basic salary does not go over £34,303
In addition, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be employed (including agency or zero-hour contracts)
- Self employed
- A full time carer, paid or non-paid (where there is capacity on existing courses)
You will not be eligible if you are:
- Under the age of 19
- Attending school, college, university full time as a pupil or student
- Already in Welsh funded government funded work-based learning
- An ineligible overseas national
- In receipt of an assembly learning grant or education maintenance allowance
- Unemployed (or do not have a contract of employment)
