Course Details
The RTITB Counterbalance Lift Truck Conversion from Reach Truck course is designed to support learners with formal training and experience of operating a reach truck on converting to use of a counterbalance lift truck.
Existing operators will be guided through various topics from introduction to the truck through to handling operations to ensure competence in operating the new machine whilst saving on time and financial resources.
On completion of the RTITB course, you will recieve a E-Card & PDF Certificate.
SELECTING THE RIGHT COURSE FOR YOU
Counter Balance up to 5,000kg (ABA category B1)
1 Day Course | Refresher Training (For students already in possession of a valid Counterbalance Qualification, due to expire)
2 Day Course | Conversion Training (For students already in possession of a valid Reach Truck Qualification, looking to convert to operating a Counterbalance Lift Truck)
3 Day Course | Experienced Training (For students with extensive experience in operating a Counterbalance Forklift that do not currently hold a valid qualification)
4 Day Course | Novice Training (For students with little or no prior experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift)

For students already in possession of a valid Reach Truck Qualification, which are expired or due to expire.
Good understanding of written & spoken English
- Responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act, 1974, PUWER 98 & LOLER 98
- Operators Safety code
- Re-charging of Diesel, Gas or Electric Counterbalance Forklift
- Pre-use checks
- Factors affecting stability
- Motive and hydraulic controls of the Counterbalance Forklift
- Maneuvering the Forklift Truck in open and confined areas
- Stacking at different levels
- De-stacking with laden and un-laden pallets
- Working in and out of racking with the Counterbalance Forklift
On completion of this course, you will gain an RTITB accredited license, demonstrating the skills and knowledge required to operate a counter balance fork truck to an industry leading standard.
The awarding body RTITB issue all certificates via PDF format. This will be emailed to the course booking contact on successful completion of the course, once returned from RTITB.
This course will be assessed by a theory assessment and basic operator skills test.
