Course Details
The Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) is a one day course, aimed at supporting individuals within organisations who holds supervisory duties of all aspects of Temporary Works, in line with industry best practice (BS5975:2024).
Temporary works are both a safety and business critical consideration on any site requiring coordination, competency and skills. The CITB TWS course adopts the management processes in line with BS5975:2024, which in turn introduces the TWS as a key role in the supervision of Temporary Works.
Developed in support of The Temporary Works Forum and the Health & Safety Executive, the TWS course is considered an essential element of TWS competence. Throughout the programme, learners will explore the processes involved in temporary works, in particular to the role and duties of the TWS.
There are no formal entry requirements, delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a Temporary Works Supervisor. Delegates must be competent in Written and Spoken English.
Each learner will need access to their own device, which will need a reliable internet connection and a desktop computer or laptop with a camera function or webcam.
The minimum requirements for remote course delivery are:
- Operating system: Windows, Apple or Android
- Processor: 3 GHz
- RAM: 2 GB
- Broadband speed: 512 kbps
- Screen resolution: 1024 by 768
- The most recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari
- It is strongly recommended that you have more than one monitor or display to sit this course, this will support in viewing the online course teaching material as well as the tutor led presentation.
On booking completion, we will send you a CITB remote delegate form. Please ensure this form is completed and returned prior to course commencement as per the email instructions. We will also provide you with email access to the most up to date version of the course eBook.

If you are or about to acquire a Temporary Works Supervisor role on a construction site you have a legal and moral responsibility to your work force.
The awarding body CITB issue all certificates via PDF format. This will be emailed to the course booking contact on successful completion of the course, once receieved from CITB.
